Living Life During COVID 19
I was looking at Instagram and came across a post that was something that stood out to me. In the post it talked about how procrastination was a mental prison for depression. The owner of the post encouraged people to set task for them selves to follow in order to avoid falling in to the grips of depression. Many of us can say we have the unfortunate habit of leaving things to the last minute, or in some cases the last second of the last minute. This is a bad habit for anyone to have, but even more so for those suffering with anxiety or depression. Your anxiety can cause you to put something of over and over again, which in turn causes more stress and anxiety. Once your procastination causes you to be in a serious jam, like being behind on your bills or missing important deadlines, you're left feeling fustrated, ashamed and mad at your inability to cope with your mental illness. This will be something many people will be dealing with right now. Many people are being laid off there jobs leaving them with uncertainties. Questions like how they will pay their bills, when will they be able to look for a new job and how long will their financial uncertainty last will plague people's minds. For those with elderly relatives or family members with low immune systems, fears for the health and safety will be constant. In these hard times setting task, even small task for ourselves will be vital to not allowing depression and anxiety to take over our lives. What we all should do is write a list of things we need to get done around the house and set to doing them everyday. I know for myself sitting around with nothing to do is the worse thing for me. In the post I read the man said walking his dog is the first task he does for the day, for others it may be doing the laundry or washing dishes. What task do you do to help with your mental health? What task will you being doing during qurantine? Let me know in the comments.
